Galactic Civilizations III Sudden Weird Ending

I was playing as the Terran Alliance and was doing quite well, having the largest civilization.  It was down to 4 civilizations - Terran Alliance, Altarian Resistance, Mowlings, and the Yor.  It was turn 339.  I had an alliance with the Altarian Resistance to turn 376.  The Altarian Resistance also had an alliance with the Mowling.  I was at war with the Mowling and the Yor.  The Yor was at war with all the other civilizations.  On turn 339 the Yor suddenly terminated and the game ended stating that I was defeated due to a Galactic Alliance without any further explaination.  Not sure why the game would not continue at least until my war with the Mowling had ended, at which time I hoped to still be in an alliance with the Altarian Resistance?

The Altarian Resistance won because they had alliances with all the remaining civilizations.

Even stranger, if another civ has an Alliance with all but you, and you have an Alliance with all but them, making that final alliance will give the other civ the win (even though it also gets the player all alliances).  I'd call this a bug, maybe?  But maybe not - the other civ also won by Alliance, it is more of a tie.  It does make me careful when going for the Alliance win.

Yes, that is most likely the case.  It seemed, however that the Yor, which was extremely weak (only 2 planets and a few ships), was trying to self destruct when it was already at war with the Mowling, it then declared war on the Terran Alliance and then a few turns later declared war on the Altarian Resistence.  This suicidal move by the computer controlled Yor then allowed the computer controlled Altarian Resistence to win.  Sounds like a conspiracy to me.

Yes, I think it is a bug, unless the makers of the game want to give the computer controlled civilizations an edge.
