Taskbar Issues

I seem to be coming across weird taskbar issues while using windowblinds. Some skins have either a dark or light taskbar, so I will usually go into windows settings and tweak the system color to be light or dark on the taskbar. This will make the icons on the notification tray white or black. However, I noticed odd issues when doing so. My Taskbar refuses to load the colors set for the taskbar buttons, quicklaunch buttons with text enabled show up transparent and the buttons for those quicklaunch load some odd texture not defined for them while in Light Mode and while in dark mode almost all is correct but the taskbar button text color not loading the WB settings. On my second monitor the taskbar button text is how it should be. This is a fresh windows 10 2004 build install/Latest Windowblinds. No other programs I have installed are messing with it as I test this same thing on my laptop and get the same results. Is it possible windows 10 2004 may have broke something in windowblinds? PS, I have already tried the various methods of clean installing it so its not that.  Here is a video on it:

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Would like to know more.

1) Theme you are using with a link so that I can have a look at it.

2) Just to verify, Windows version, please use Winver.exe for full version numbers and Windowblinds version.

This issue happens on all windowblinds styles. Not just the one I shown to demo it. Every style included in WB I choose on both my systems and in the VMs have the same issue. It can be triggered on any style just by changing the color to light under windows settings. If on Dark, most issues will go away but not the one where the taskband button text color obeys the style's settings. 

Upon looking further into the issue. When you use dark color mode, it will load the quicklaunch section in windowblinds style. But if you set it to light color mode, it shrinks the icons/makes the text transparent/loads the button from - Edit Toolbar Controls/button

Any word? Been a few days now.  The taskbar button font color seems to be an issue introduced in windows 10 2004 build. If you load Windows 10 1909 build, the button font color is loaded properly. The Quicklaunch button/font issue seems to be introduced when the light/dark mode option was added in windows 10. Hopefully this info can help.

No, no update so far, and I can't verify it since I am still on Windows 10 v1909. Microsoft still listed my system not available for v2004 update. Looking at issues with v2004 posted on the web, I am happy running my v1909 bug free. Hopefully the issue goes away when Microsoft sorted all the issues out and release bug free version of V2004.

Since you are on 1090, You can trigger the quicklaunch issue on your system by changing your system color to dark. You will notice the quicklaunch icons get smaller, font becomes transparent and the graphic for the button will load from Edit Toolbar Controls/button. Does that issue apply on your system? Example

Well, I tested that part. And I see that small button on Windows 10 default without any theme. And the buttons always smaller than taskbar. So I guess that on Microsoft.

Hopefully at least the button graphic/font issue can be worked out. I don't mind the small icons, however it loading incorrect sections of WB is quit bothersome XD

I guess that is why more and more skins were made with Dark and Light substyles to deal with those differences between MS Windows 10 dark and light setting. But some too small/mostly unseen by users and some author, including me, just ignore it. Unless customer/user complain about it.

I can see that. Not sure if people use toolbars as much anymore. I use them quite often, so seeing the text break is saddening XD Might need to look into alternatives to launching my tools for the time being.

Smart move not to update to v2004. I did last week and what a nightmare that was !! My computer crashed numerous times , programs suddenly wouldn't load anymore, even my Stardock programs like curtains and Start10 and IconDeveloper all had loading errors. I kept getting messages about a corrupt hard drive and it kept wanting to scan my hard drive for errors every time I tried to reboot. Finally I gave up and wiped my hard drive and re-installed Windows. Now I'm running version 1909 and everything is smooth as silk. I changed my update settings to delay the update to v2004 for 365 days !!  LOL.

I 've updated my laptop, and desktop (AMD build) to Win 2004, a week or so ago, and yet to experience any of those problems, yet anyway.

Not as of yet, I'm keeping an eye open for any and all issues, I made sure I created a "restore point", and a complete backup, just in case things go south. This is my current settings, to be honest, I don't use "dark" mode at all, as I don't like it, that's just my preference though. |-)
