Windows 10 2004
Anyone Have It?
On what was formerly Windows Secrets, I read that we should avoid upgrading to Windows 10 2004, does anyone have it installed, and are there issues?

I have it installed and only got 1 black screen of death when installing graphics drivers. A reboot fixed the issue. It seems the black screen is a known issue and goes away when you reboot.
I did the update. No problems.
Before updating, I did an sfc /scannow and that fixed some corrupt system files. Then I did a restore point and a backup. That's become my routine before doing updates because of the miserable update rep MS has acquired.
SimplexDesigns problem has to do with the graphics drivers. This article might help others, as you have fixed your problem.

It was a fresh windows install when it happened while I was installing the driver via GeForce Experience app. It only happened once and has not happened since. Though I did notice on all systems I have 2004 installed on has black screens when using the new search win+s key combo.
Interesting. On my MSI with nVidia GForce drivers, tried Win+S and just got the search box, no problems. Might happen when I update my drivers, though as I do that through the Experience app, as well.
Seems like it has finally gone away on my main system. It looks like a Cumulative Update that was not yet available for my system showed up in the updates. Installed it and my issue went away. Microsoft really need to double down on fixing all these types of bugs before releasing each update. :/
If it just hiccuped once, might just have been the drivers engaging for the first time...who knows. Yeah, I've posted a couple of times on MS's lack of diligence...since they laid off the profession crew testing these things in favor of their crowd testers- early implementers.
No problemo

I'll just stick with Windows 2007 .....;)
I installed it and lo and behold there was a Radeon graphics driver update. After the driver "updated" I got an error that it had failed.
Rebooted, checked for driver update and guess what, up to date. Hmmm.
Installed on 2 machines first day it came out with no problems. Windows installed older Nvidia drivers I updated them smooth as butter.
How do you like 2004 , any notable changes worth while
anything cool about it are dreams running fine on it ?
This might warn some folks about the update and incompatibilities.
I did find this, the Task Manager shows you the temp of your GPU

Mine does not, Al.
I'm running Win 10 version 1909, and I'm showing GPU info in Task Manager.
Don your not showing the GPU temperature.
only systems with WDDM 2.0-compatible GPUs show this information in the Task Manager. If you don’t see it, your system’s GPU probably uses an older type of driver.
You can check which version of WDDM your GPU driver is using by pressing Windows+R, typing “dxdiag” into the box, and then pressing Enter to open the DirectX Diagnostic tool. Click the “Display” tab and look to the right of “Driver Model” under Drivers. If you see a “WDDM 2.x” driver here, your system is compatible. If you see a “WDDM 1.x” driver here, your GPU isn’t compatible.
Phooooooon!
Ahhh, understood Al.
Installed the update. Zero issues. Not bad considering this all-in-one was made in 2011.
