Color Profiles

Changed by itself?

My CS5 photoshop all of a sudden is showing up LIGHTER than my my finished works on the web.

Did this to me back in the 2000 era too. I must have changed my monitor profile or was it ADOBE?

Is it my MONITOR settings?

Hi Sed!

It's possible to assign differenet colour profiles for Photoshop, printers, scanners, monitors, etc. For Photoshop CS 5 you can do that under the advanced tab when choosing File, New, Advanced:

You should check what profile is assigned to your monitor, and in most cases, like yours, it should be the same as you choose for your new document. Hope this helps!

Also, have a look here: Photoshop CS5 Color Management

IT IS ...... my monitor

On the left is the PHOTOSHOP -- on the right the screen

The same image being displayed differently on 2 pieces of software on the same monitor points to the software.  If it were (just) the monitor the images would be displayed the same.  I'd guess Yrgal is on the right track.

And might I add, the color profile is saved in/with the image.
