Can I offer a little advice on making walls?  Don't put logos or site links on them, it's unnecessary and spoils the clean lines of an image.

Otherwise, good work for your first wall!!

Thanks for the nice welcome.
The only reason I put a logo and link on is it so my work is recognised, I mean if people didn't put anything on them then other people can claim the work is theres. Some guy could print a load of wallpapers for a GFX design job and claim the work is his. Anyway, nice to meet you all.

XtremeCosmos....the problem with a prominent name or logo is that it detracts from the wall....when used as a wall....and as a potential safety-net against having the wall 'ripped' or stolen is next to totally useless, as it takes seconds to remove it [usually].

Best defense is in publishing it and therefore having record of its creation and date of upload....with a 'small' name attached.

Better still is to never publicly release it....then no-one is aware of it and ergo cannot steal it...

Thanks Jafo for the advice.
The logo attached to my wall isnt too bad when used for the desktop. "Xtreme Cosmos" simply rests above the clock area and the url cannot be seen, the url can only be seen when the image is shown fully as the windows taskbar hides the url - this is a little less writing.

I see what you mean, people can remove the text easily. One of the easiest ways is cropping.

The problem arises when you realise that not everyone actually has a taskbar, tray and clock.....some do not even use the Explorer GUI at all...

And those with auto-hide set?...they must endure the distracting name....or edit it themselves...

What about those wallpapers with writing in the center.
Btw I got a problem, I can't seem to update my desktop on my profile I keep getting a "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error".

If the text is a part of the overall design then that is o.k. to a point, but believe me, most people will pass up on a wall with a prominent name and web address, they just don't want someone else's name on their system. We have even been known to moderate walls with web addresses on them as advertising.

And, if someone is going to rip your wall, they will do it regardless of whether you put a name on it or not. I wouldn't worry about that too much, copyright is inherent in all your work as soon as you upload it.

We're just trying to help you Martyn. (and I always try to help a fellow Brit  )
