can't exit dialogue at Kapteyn's bar

Whenever I speak to Kapteyn's bar it never gives me the option to exit and I have to restart the game to do anything. I have seen similar issues in the forums before, but I have not seen anyone else with a problem in this dialogue. I have option to buy drink, free drink with coupon, new crew, refuel ship, and jobs board. Nothing new appears when I go through all the dialogue or when I spend all of my money of drinks.

 

Also, not really a problem, but whenever I finish the jobs board dialogue string (like accepting the jobs) it lowers the text on the main dialogue screen a tiny bit.

Well good news. I was able to exit the bar by getting the event where some drenkind started sing and I got kicked out of the bar. Previously, I did not choose a side and I was stuck in the bar. I don't think this was the intended way to exit, so my original problem still stands.

I still need help with this issue. I can not visit Kapetyen's station anymore or I will get stuck in a dialogue loop

Have you tried using option 2? The one for a free drink, since you have only one coupon it will be eliminated from the list of choices afterwards.

Ah... Funny thing then, I have used the coupon many times. I've tried to get a random event that kicks me out of the bar. The option never goes away.

What version of the game are you running? Is this on GOG or Steam?

It is steam and I think it is the most up to date. I've had to keep it offline for a while.

I was looking through the dialogue files for the game, but I couldn't find any referring to kapteyn's bar. I was hoping to delete the option to buy a drink with the coupon to see if that fixes it.

It is not the most up to date. Go and update and verify your files. If it is still erroring please upload the save game to dropbox or something and link it here.
