Additioanl factions

Did I just confused games because I think that last time I played Sins there were more than 3 factions to add to the game play.  I fired the game again yesterday and to my surprise there are only 3 factions to choose from?

The last time I played sins there were only three. That was one of the problems with the game there are only three. Multiple players can use the same one, but there are only three.

Maybe I had a mod installed, can't remember now.

Technically there is only three. Just that each one has two subsets.

There has only ever been three races. Rebellion split each race into two subfactions, which are further specialized.

Mods of course have added a ton of new races.
