Start Menu's Pinned Tiles Background Color

How to Change the Background Color of the Pinned Tiles screen?

Windows just did a major update. Afterward, my pinned tiles start menu background had been changed to black. As you can see, the background on the individual tiles are pink, which was done to match the color of the formerly also-pink background. There's no option in Windows to change the entire background color. You can only change the background color of the tiles. I don't remember how I changed it before. I have an older version of Object Desktop, which has different apps than the one Stardock offers now. It's possible I used one of the Stardock apps to change it. Do you know what setting or app can be used to change the color of the area where I've drawn X's below? I did find a way to switch it from black to white in Windows, but there were no color options. Thanks.

Windows 10, Version 1903 (OS Build 18362.267)

I didn't have Tiles installed, so I went ahead and installed the latest version using OD Manager to see if that's the app I need to change the background color. I don't think it is, but I still haven't figured out what Tiles does, so I'll let you know if it turns out to be helpful.

Okay, I refreshed my memory on the Tiles app. You and I are using the term "tiles" differently. The Stardock app, Tiles, doesn't do anything to Windows' pinned tiles/links. It's just a completely separate thing.

7heather,

If all you are referring to is the Windows 10 Start menu tiles, and not a Stardock product, there might not be much we can help with.

One thing you might check is if you switched to a 'Dark' or 'custom' color scheme:

Thanks Sean.

You are welcome - so that worked for you - what was it set to?

Sorry for not giving a clear response before.

Yes, in Windows: Settings: Personalization: Colors settings, the "Choose Your Color: Light/Dark/Custom" was the issue. The Windows update had apparently reset some stuff and unchecked the box at the bottom that says,

Show accent color on the following surfaces:
Start, taskbar, and action center
Title bars and window colors

I wasn't able to select "Start, taskbar, and action center" without FIRST setting the "Choose your color" setting to either Dark or Custom. Having it set to Light disables the checkbox on the "Start, taskbar, and action center" accent color option. So I changed the "Choose your color" to Custom and then I was able to select the option to show my accent color on the Start, taskbar, and action center

Sheesh, it takes a lot of specific typing to explain this stuff, lol.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. It really was a huge help to me.
