I made a MP4 from a GIF i made, i used soft light on an overlay image to fill an alpha channel. In the normal video the soft light only shows on the skin of the person but when i set it as a background it shows the entire soft light layer. anyone know why this happens or any possible fix

Sorry to hear you are having issues.
Don't really understand your issue though .
Show a screenshot of it being applied to deskscapes .
and a video capture of the issue as a AVI or WMV format
as those are the only formats at this time that can be used
for video in dream maker .
Not MP4 at this time ....

What you are eperiencing here is quite common when the source is a GIF-image. GIFs only have a 256 color palette, unlike JPGs, PNGs and others.
