I have found no way to have all of portal sub-folders inherit the view setting of the top portal.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. As far as I know this is known issue and I believe it was reported and logged internally.

It follows what WinExplorer does now (acts the same way). That said, and option is being considered to have it follow a set view from a parent directory).
