Doing a stint in Chester County Hospital...version 2

Doing a stint in Chester County Hospital...version 2

Here we go again lol

Well like the title says I'm back in the hospital because my COPD kicked up big time. Shortness of breath, ugly loud coughs and coughing up ugly phlegm. The mass in my lung is still there and I'm to see a cancer doc soon for palliative care options. Could be surgery or chemo or radiation. The surgery part I'm hoping is a last resort. I'll do the other nonsense and be a bald person, no problem. Then I can make other people jealous. I've had three breath therapies since I've been here. Got here around one this afternoon. Got a shot of steroids to open my lungs and some heavy duty antibiotics. And I got some perks to boot. I can use my laptop here, got cable TV and access to halfway decent channels. Stay tuned for further developments.

*i sound like a commercial lol*

Tomorrow at 7 am I'm going in for my pacemaker. Should take no more than an hour or two with all the prep and stuff. Hope to post back here sometime tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed lol.

Best wishes your way Ross!

opinion on both.

Both sound right, Ross. A 4 second pause is more than enough for a pacemaker. The biopsy with histochemistry would be indicated to determine treatment options, and thanks for the vote of confidence.

Yeah, hope the pacemaker improves your lot and gets you back on the mend again.

Well I got my pacemaker. Took about a hour and change. It's a bit sore and will be for a few weeks. Already got chastised by my nurse because I'm not supposed to be getting up and around on my own just yet. I was surprised because I was awake for the procedure and felt nothing. Not too shabby.

That would be kind of freaky, probably a lot safer than knocking you out though.

Did she tell you you're a "Bad, bad boy" and offer to spank you?  ;)

Sounds like it went well, keep on chuggin along

Biopsy takes place tomorrow afternoon. Most likely be going home tomorrow night after dinner. Going to have a home monitor for the pacemaker plus a visiting nurse service. Getting up in the world I are. Lol

Glad the pacemaker went well.... hope the biopsy does as well.

I was assigned a home nurse back in the day when I busted up my hip and other stuff.  Was hoping to get a pretty young thing with big boobies.... got a frumpy old bird with attitude and a non-existent smile.  She was rough as guts and hurt me several times when changing dressings, administering needles.

Hopefullu you'll get a nicer one.

Oops, do an edit to correct a typo and end up with two posts... sorry.

Update:

So I had the biopsy and I am back home. Won't know the results for a while yet. Have one doctors appointment on the eighth at 10:30 am. A month from now for a second  appointment and after that who knows. Anyway I'm home and looking for anything I can get my hands on to eat. They call it hangry and that I am. Thanks for all your support.

now you can sleep better

Not only that. Before I went to the hospital climbing two flights of stairs damn near exhausted me. Last night coming home my daughter complained that I made her look old when I took those two flights of stairs as though they were nothing. Boy did that feel good.
