Rebellion won't launch, no error message

So Sins has been one of my favorite games for years, however when I got a new computer recently. A MSI GV62 virtually every game I have on Steam, Origin & those downloaded from GOG work except for my favorite! 

I have Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion on Steam and every time I try and launch the game it does not freeze the computer or provide an error message. Steam says the game is running, however the computer appears to do nothing, simply remaining on the desktop. Thinking it could be a timing issue I've waited up to 10 minutes to no avail.

If I verify the integrity of the files one file always needs replacing. If I purge the game from the machine and download it again it seems to have the same issue again. I'm at a loss what to do. 

Conquering galaxies I can do, fixing complex software issues not so much. Has anyone else run into this particular issue? It would be a shame if I couldn't ever play Sins ever again.

I too cannot launch Rebellion.  Rebellion worked for me for years but I am having the same problem noted by Caswallon.  I have looked through all the "recent" threads online to attempt to fix this problem. 

I followed many different varieties to get the game going to include:  2 full re-installs with restart of PC.  I have verified the integrity of the game files each time, both from within Steam properties and through the Stardock launch window.  The Stardock launch window states there is a file missing then I watch as Steam downloads something, but once again the file comes up missing.

As the administrator, I edited the settings file.  I tried the default settings.  I tried with Windows TRUE.  I tried lowering the screen resolution, as well.

All in all I have been troubleshooting this problem for the last two hours and have ended up here frustrated.  I have a large assortment of "minidump" files that I have no idea who I should send them too.

Here is the first error that repeatedly comes up every time when trying to launch Rebellion through Steam on my Windows 10 high end PC.

I have the same problem. Literally did everything that I could relate to from FAQ and nothing. Not even dev.exe works. One thing that kind of worked for me was running the game in windowed mode but I have to edit the config file every time I want to play. I can change it to fullscreen once I am in game and it works just fine strangely. Also there are no sounds in the game. I have no idea what causes that. I tried playing with the sounds settings in game and outside but to no avail.
