Object Desktop Manager Deskscape 8 install error: Setup can not create the following folder

As described in subject line. I installed Object Desktop Manager andattempted to install Deskscape 8 and Spacemonger. I tried to install it in the Object Desktop Manager multiple times to no avail. I tried to install Deskscape separately to around 80% but a pop up window indicating the following:

Setup can not create the following folder:

C:\Users\koval\OneDrive\??\Stardock\Dreams

My assumption is that its trying to install in OneDrive instead of designated location. So I input save location as C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\Dreams

However same problem still occurs.

I'd appreciate if anyone could advise me on how to successfuly install Deskscape 8,

Thank you for your attention in advance!

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try this.

1) Download direct your Deskscapes installer from your account. https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

2) Do the purge just to remove traces of bad installation you did previously : https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#reinstalling

3) Do the re-installing using the Deskcapes installer you just download.

4) Reboot after the installation.

5) Retest and report back here.

Thank you,

I reinstalled the object desktop manager and ran the bat file and it said fail to load plugin in the end.

Where should the file location be saved to? What is the path?

I was talking about reinstalling Deskscape not The Object Desktop

The default location that set by the installer should be fine.

I have a similar problem.  Instead of OneDrive, my user folder is located on a different network resource, but similar.

My install fails at the same point.  It can't create the Dreams folder.

Running the .bat file and reinstalling with a fresh copy downloaded from the site doesn't fix anything.

That is indeed likely the issue.  Our only recommendation would be to suspend, just for the install, the mapping to OneDrive.
