Empty start menu

MS's latest update KB 4467702 failed twice to install. After the first failure I got an empty start menu. I changed WBs on version 10.65 several times with the same result. On the third try the install happened and I rebooted yet the problem persists. I don't know what happened so I'm running an sfc scan now. Also look at the settings window. Notice the frame is only partially applied. WB tried to skin it but it reverted back to flat buttfugly.

Windowblinds 10.74 (not beta) is available at the store Ross, might solve some issues for you if you install it.

After the update I ran the sfc scan which found corrupted files but was unable to fix them all. I unstalled WB 10.65 and rebooted. Installed WB 10.74 and rebooted again. Before even changing any skins I checked the start menu. Its still empty and WB automatically changed to the skin I had on it. That never happened before. Any ideas suggestions...anything.

If you apply the default theme is it still blank?

Do you have Object Desktop ?

It includes Start 10 try that ?

I have Object Desktop and Start 10 is installed, both latest versions. I think it has something to do with Start 10 because I can pin apps to Start 10, which I did, but not to the regular start menu. And yes its blank before any skin is loaded. My real concern is why the sfc scan finds corrupt files after an update was installed. I looked into the CBS log file but to make sense of it...meh. As for 1809 (September release)...1804 (April release) is just five months older. According to Mr. Pritchard. Anyway I solved the issue by pinning those apps to Start 10. MS's start menu my be glitchy but Start 10 works and that's all I care about.
