Don't bite my head off but I GOTTA ASK...

Is there a reason why "UNDO" in Skinstudio is never available or am I the only one that can't use undo? I've been constantly making backups every 20 minutes because for the last few months of using SS it does not utilize the undo feature. Am I doing sometihng wrong?

I've been wondering the exact same thing................. didn't the undo actually work, a few versions back? I seem to recall there was even an undo button.

Jafo, and I always thought that was the title of a song by Jaz. I never thought it was a real grammar rule.

....But I found out the hard way that the UNDO button dont work when replacing images. If I dont make a backup and I mess up an image, I have to re-do it again >

Koasati, I dunno of you're teasing me or being serious but since I never used the previous versions of SS before I dunno for sure...all I know is that the menu/edit/undo doesn't seem to work for much but the code changes...from what I've experienced so far anyway and I'm in NO WAY a pro.

A_67...I find this issue even when doing minor margin changes...no undo. At first, this set major panic in my heart and then I learned to work with and around it but still...it would be a nice feature if it were fully enabled.

And to double this problem...some skin changes can't be seen for some reason (fully) until 'applied' and therefore you are kinda stuck with what you just did unless you made a back-up...so it's a bit of hit and miss as it were.

Undo never works for me either.

Oh man...!

Every graphics program would be rendered useless in all of history if there was no undo.

And if we ain't anal-retentive enough about stuff!

If only 'undo' worked for my life.

Doesn't control + z work?

Don't think so, its a shortcut to undo...

The current undo is a simple 1 level undo for the "code" tab.
Right now I'm deep inside the USF coding and I cannot really think about it until before the release of 4.0, but i will add it to the todo "list to consider". The major paint is how deep it goes which means that it will require a massive rework on the current engine, and the memory requirements will jump up considerably too. and probably changing anything in "code" tab would have to reset the "undo" history, as i'm not really aware of what user changes there (e.g. copy/paste).
btw, Photoshop 4 did not have more then 1 undo level too, still beeing succesfull

I remember indeed when there ewas no undo in Photoshop.  Had to make the best use of many many layers. That's where I took the habit of always duplicating a layer before making changes to it.

It's not that far in the past where very few programs had an undo feature, and if they did, it was only 1 undo level. Ended up with many many versions of the same documents, in different stages of development.

I've only had computers for the last six years...I guess I really am a newbie!

Well, having no undo for stuff other than the coding is not the end of the world...I'm already used to making back-ups and SS is a great program especially because I prefer being able to see the visuals ...especially being able to see stuff in the previews to adjust margins etc.

Layers are good backups...especially since you can't undo it once it's saved and the program is shutdown anyway. I have tons of PSP files saved with layers...it does save me a ton of time.

Well...if ya need a beta-tester for any changes to Skinstudio...gimme a holler.
