Hey folks,
We've have reports of people crashing on planets (especially the graphically heavy planets such as Venus). Although we can't reproduce the problem internally, we may have a workaround fix. If you are crashing on planets, would you be willing to try out a private build? Here is how to access it:
- Select Star Control: Origins in your Steam Library list
- Right-click and select Properties
- Select the BETAS tab
- Enter DoesItWorkNow
- Click "Check Code"
From the drop-down, select "sample" and click Close (if you don't see this option, restart Steam). Note this is fix is specific for problems on planets. Its also very experimental and may cause other problems and issues. Please backup your save games and local mods before trying it out. Thanks!
