Are there any plans to update IconDeveloper to run on Windows 10?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

I'm running Windows 10 with Icon Packager and Icon Developer below a screenshot

Make sure you have the latest versions and download from your " My Downloads " Stardock account .

I had recently purchased an ran Object Desktop Manager which shows IconDeveloper v2.13 in a section called "Not Compatible". If I try to check the box to download anyway it give a message saying "IconDeveloper is not compatible with your version of Windows."

Since the website only lists Windows 7 as a compatible OS then I assumed that was the reason. If it works fine on Windows 7, then Object Desktop Manager needs to be fixed.

How can I work around the problem?

I found the full list of apps in "My Download" as you suggested. It downloaded and appeared to install fine.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Weird that Object Desktop Manager prevents the installation of the IconDeveloper app.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Don't use OD Manager , go to your Stardock Account for your download. https://store.stardock.com/myaccount

In my screenshot above that is version 2.13 I'm showing  with Windows 10 v1803

I don't use the program myself but when you posted the Thread I went to

My Downloads and it was there and downloaded with no problem and

then I loaded it and it appears to be working ,

Give it a try .

EDIT .. you posted your comment just before I posted mine

Glad you got it ..

Hi,

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread...

I'm unable to re-install Icon Developer on a new Win 10 laptop.

I've loaded all my other purchased Stardock software including the Object Desktop app that shows Icon Developer as 'incompatible'. It's not listed in my store account purchases, nor my order history - which goes back to 2002! but I've been a Stardock customer since the OS2 days.

I thought it was part of the Object Desktop suite (for which I have a paid-up subscription)?

My previous laptop had a registered copy running on it although that machine was upgraded from Win8 to Win10 over the years.

The trial download does not allow a license key to be entered and trying to download the full version requires payment up front.

I thought I already own this app (or do I?).

Any advice appreciated.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. What error popup when you try to install Icon Developer on your Win 10 laptop? I just uninstall Icon Developer in my Windows 10 V20H2 and reinstall. No error came up. Only warning of it might not be compatible with Windows 10 from Windows 10.

And It show up in your individual download in your object Desktop Software listing.

Hi Basj,

Thanks for the quick reply.

How do you display the "View Individual Downloads" list in Object Desktop Manager like that? I'm running V4.01 of OD manager, is there a newer version?

In any case it appears that it was related to .Net Framework 3.5 not being enabled in the Windows Features of the new PC. Once that was installed I was able to reinstall Icon Developer from an old archive I (finally) found and re-register it.

It's version Icon Developer v2.13 is that the latest?

All working now!

Those was from my product account on Stardock, you should be able to get to it using this link https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Yes, V2.13 is the latest version.

Thank you,
