Regular automated saved-games, then nothing for a period of 4.5 hours

+ Minor annoyance with cut transmission.

I've been playing for a few days, and had gotten used to making use of the automated saved games that appeared to be done every 10-15 minutes.

Next thing I know, there's a period of 4.5 hours without a single automated backup.   Why the discrepancy ?  Is it only certain events that trigger a backup ?   I found myself in an unwinnable situation and wanted to go back 10-15 minutes in the past to reconfigure my ship and saw to my surprise I had no automated game saves for a very long period.   That's a whole afternoon of game-play to redo.

Any way we can have a save game when we enter a System and when we go in orbit around a planet ?

There's also a minor annoyance.   Sometimes the ship gets an incoming transmission just as the ship goes in orbit around the planet, and this cuts off the transmission so the player has no way to know what that message was.  Anyway to replay a cut-of message when we leave the orbit of a planet ?

The game autosaves every 10-15 minutes and before combat or landing on a planet.  So going for 4hrs w/o an autosave is unexpected.  This the first report I've heard of it not working. Is there any other info that you could provide?

I have the same thing, last manual save at 45h 53m, the only AutoSave is at 48h 21m.  I did have 3 manual saves, so I deleted the oldest one I wasn't using (named Main2), but that didn't change anything.

This *used* to be working, as when I found myself doing something dumb, I could roll back a bit through 3 or 4 autosaves.

In this time, I did the Tywon/Human trial stuff, the Phamysh dinner and "opened the door".  Basically spoke to different Aliens to do this, not a lot of fighting or lander activity (except to open the door).   Went back to Earth to learn of the Xraki incoming attack.
