How do you get more crew for the random wrecked ships you find on planets?

So I got a few random ships from planetary explorations and used them in combat. Thought they were really fun but for some reason now can't figure out how to get them more crew. One of the ships I got through giving a fuel compressor to an alien and that ship can't get more crew either. Any help? 

Also wth can I sell biomass! lol thanks guys.

P.S. Game is so fun. Thank you so much Stardock for making this a reality.

The crashed ships you find on planets and repair are crewed with humans so they should be topped up by visiting Star Control, just like the Vindicator.  The Norast ship cannot be refilled as of the 1.01 patch, but I have seen comments that something will be done about that in a future patch.

There are traders that will buy the biomass, you just have to find them. One of the races you can ally with will also buy it.
