Steam reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, but review bombing seems to be happening on Metacritic. Most of those really negative scores don't even include an explanation.

I created a metacritic account to try to fight this I hope we can get the user score to a reasonable level soon.
We believe it was a dozen or so people. It's a shame but nothing we can really do about it. Thankfully streamers and gamers are in the majority loving it 
100. I mean to give a 0 rating the game would have to be total trash scoring like that on purpose just to scew the rating down. Im tryin to keep things upbeat on reddit for ya guys but looks like there is a posse of haters, im runnin out of steam lol. Thankfully its the weekend and imma log in some good hours on the game.
I wouldn't be surprised if it were a cadre of Toys for Bob supporters.
Yuuuuup! While I love those guys for Star Control 2, they had 25 years to make a sequel!
Can't believe they've got a Frungy Defense Fund to try and sue Stardock for this awesome game (and carrying on their legacy when no one else wouldn't! Btw, there is NO STAR CONTROL 3 in my mind ;-D )

We appreciate it. We noticed that they were even down-voting people asking gameplay questions on Star Control...on the Star Control reddit.
