Deskscapes 8.51 + Win10 1803 + WDM.exe memory leak

Deskscape is massively memory leaking on Win10 1803 X64 with 3 Monitors Single video stretched across all 3 monitors (currently leaking 5.5GIG of System memory)

Ether 3-way in NV surround @ 5760x1080 (combined) or 3-way separate 1920x1080 same memory leak results.

From my tests its only happens with 3 monitors.. stretching a single video 2 monitors has no issues (or at lest not that I can tell)
No other StarDock software installed..

I did a clean/purge install. I letting my pc run for a day or 2 to see if it changes from roughly 300mb to (leak size) if it even leaks  after a clean install..

Well it currently sitting at 700mb (DWM.EXE) time will tell if it jumps past a few gigs..

currently sitting at 300mb > 700mb > 1.3gig (DWM.EXE) and slowly climbing.. I post tormmow, again..

Hello.

Try a Clean Boot so deskscape can run without other apps running

and then check your usage if high. We need to know this first before

moving forward.

Would you Please try a Clean Boot: https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#cleanboot

currently sitting at 2.47 gigs (DWM.exe) … Restarting with a clean boot... Ill post my results tomorrow..

in the attempt to do a "clean" boot I ended up pooching my entire install, apparently windows hates when I start tweaking (disabling) services, and what not, Also WIndows "diagnostics" boot is useless...

I also found out today that my sever and my in house network backup and restore solution works... (in case any one taking notes : always make nightly (24h) system image backups... lol

so I did something a bit different, Because using a "clean/Diagnostic" boot brakes part of my network/server tie-ins, I uninstall the app and ran my setup with out and DWM.exe performed as normal... re-install deskscape and watched the memory useage slowly scrawl up... (its still leaking out) (current useage 1.4gig+)

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

OK, I'll run your problem by the Support Team tomorrow and see if they have any ideas for you.

I did check by Googling that problem and there are some tips online about that you can check out.

It may be your networking creating a problem in your fix.

I run and make dreams daily with low DWM usage in the MB's not Gigs. only one monitor though

and a new PC.

A lot of times memory leaks correct after a simple reboot.

well I can "end task and restart task (DWM.EXE) to flush the memory out with out needing to restart...

though it only seem to have started when I connected a 3rd screen... single and dual screen setup just worked fine (as far as I can tell)

Hello,

Support might know more about 2 and 3 monitor set up than me

running only one monitor.

So we'll see .

Like I said try Googling that problem and see what is said about it on line for now.

One more thought , I run ver. 1803 and today there were Windows Updates

for that version , you could try doing the updates in case it was a Windows update

problem and see if things get better .

I am not support, but some questions could be answered to help. Like:

Does it do this to all DeskScape files that are loaded?

Does it do this if you have it on 1 monitor (meaning stretching it across 3 screens uses more processing)? I see you already answered that question.

Did you make the dream yourself? Different video files use more processing.

What if any codecs have you installed?

As I said I'm not support. Just trying to help.

As well as the use of NVidia surround would be my question.  If it is not used (I get that the stretching my not be usable then but the three monitors would be), does it still happen?

Wolf,

Thus far, you are the only one ever to report such an issue.  As stated prior, we need to be certain that they are not related to another third party software or conflict with.  The 'clean boot', and subtraction of NVidia surround, is on the table as test subjects.  We would be interested in hearing your results after.
