Start10 Search

can not click setting search results

I had to reinstall window and let windows update. When I installed Start10 I no longer use search to open items in the new settings menu. For example when I use the search in Start10 Check for updates and I click on the that item in the search I get the following error:

[Window Title]
C:\Users\turk\Start10Ctrlpnl\AAA_SystemSettings_MusUpdate_UpdateActionButton.settingcontent-ms

[Content]
Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

[OK]

I could have sworn this didn't do that before I had to reinstall windows. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Just curious, if you type "right Win key" then "X" and windows 10 search open, type in those "Check for updates" and click on the result. Is the same error come up?

I don'y really get what you want me to do. Do I type "right Win key" into Start10's search box? Sorry for the late response I'm a third shifter.

If you meant hit the actual right window key on the keyboard that would be a negative. My current keyboard does not have a right windows key. I had to google that.

Also if I use the build in windows 10 search and do this yes it works fine.

I had just hit the "Windows 10 Menu" at the top before making the change in your screenshot. It works fine with the built in Windows Start search.

It seems like any of those search results in Start10 with the blue icon does this.

Again I swear before I had to format the drive and reinstall windows 10 Start10 worked fine. I did update after the install. Was there any new updates that would interfere with Start10?

Nope Start10 work fine on my system. Search and all. I am on Windows 10 Pro ver 1803 and Start10 1.6. What Windows 10 version you on?

What do you mean by "blue icon"?

I had already done the purge and reinstall before posting here. Just did it again. Same thing is happening.

Please try the following:

-For Win8/10 Users: Open the Start Screen, and type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator' from below.

-For 7 Users: click Start, in the start search field type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator'.

-Type: sfc /scannow

-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system

If the SFC finds errors, but cannot fix them, please also run the following command in the same command prompt window:

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

The above command should assist with replacing any damaged or problematic system files. Please note, however, since it may require restoring certain files, this process can take some time and you will need to be patient until it has completed.

Please let me know whether this resolves your problem or if you have any additional question

Well, It just a few minute test, if its nothing, its nothing. Will not make your problem become worst.

BTW you did installed Start10 in your system drive? C:/ drive? Not in D or somewhere else?

Thank you,

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

Going to reboot and see if this helps.

Nope. Still does it.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

If you go here:

C:\Users\turk\Start10Ctrlpnl

Does AAA_SystemSettings_MusUpdate_UpdateActionButton

exist there:
