Star Control: The new logon screen

Like most role playing games, Star Control needs a way to get players to enter in their character information.

So how do we do that?  Through a retro (from 2088's point of view) computer!

I see someone has probably violated the rules and installed two games on that system.  I wonder if they were installed because they are "oldies but goodies" or if they are new releases.

I suspect one of them is brand new.

Workbench? Haven't seen that bandied about since the 90s (though I still have a working Amiga 600 in my den). Nice choice! Glad to see Amigas will make their eventual return ;)

Which leads to the question - Which one? :D

From the looks of that screen, somebody is a Star Fleet I: The War Begins fan... I love it!

Nah, that's not retro, that's standard issue for Star Control, since they lost the source code for all of their internal apps so they need to keep using the same platform until the UN's willing to approve a big enough budget to pay for upgrades.

Why has this not blown up? What the heck? Mr. Frogboy just teased SINS 2. It has to be real! I hope it's not a joke because I am getting excited already.

Na... that'll die with me and isn't coming back for at least 100 years.  ;-)
