So, the question was asked about what should come out of rocks when we shoot them. My idea:
Make some rocks release a tiny Ghost of the Precursor that fly up in space and you have to jump to catch it. You get enough of those, some technological breakthrough at the SC station happens or you get a snippet of Precursor Lore or you get a free random upgrade part or a cosmetic part or w/e else you might think of.
And when you collect a 1000 of those, you get a big splashscreen that says "EAT ME, FaP" :3

That's an interesting idea. I like the idea of having something you collect that you get some intangible benefit (like lore).
hey brad, awesome progress, i had a question, maybe its been answered before, the scale of the moon, is that the same template for all moons and planets, or will planets be a lot bigger to drive around in?

The moon is somewhat smaller (as it's the moon). They can be about twice that size.
This is the correct answer. Especially that it's called a Ghost of the Precursors. Not from every rock, biut some special looking rocks are actually ancient desicated remains of precursors and you collect their DNA data or something.
The fact that you call it GotP is just so much gravy, I can't even.
Planet exploration looks fun! Only thing is the magnesium, steel etc deposits. Is the current graphical representation just a placeholder? Or is that what's intended for the final version? If so, that sort of breaks the immersion to just see a steel ingot/bar swirling in mid-air. Maybe a more fitting representation would be a cluster of crystals cropping up from the ground or a mass of rock with veins of ore streaking the surface of it (sort of like ore nodes in World of Warcraft).

its supposed to be part of your HUD.

Agreed, but I would use swirling icons instead of triangles for HUD and real looking graphics for minerals themselves. Could be outta game scope though.
Yeah agree with Hunam..
Agree with Frogboy
