Anyone who can make a movie where Hayden Christiansen (sp) gets thrown into a volcano gets the thumbs up in my books. I'll be seeing episode three for this bonus alone. I agree that the first two were pretty bad though. They must have their own 'George Lucas School of Wooden Acting' and 'George Lucas School of Feature-Length Trailers' down at Skywalker Ranch.

kona took this whole bad movie thing out of control. now look at. nobody gets away with talking bad about star wars, when all the sequels were good.

Ahem, EP1 bad, EP2 worse, 4,5,6 were very good. I think George is tired of making them.

On the contrary, I'm a big fan of good science fiction. Loved Bab5, loved Star Trek (the real ST not the awful spin offs). But there have been precious few good ScFi movies in a while. Examples:

Minority Report - near miss

Hollow Man - yuk

Planet of the Apes (remake) - interesting take but thin.

Time Machine - what the hell were they thinking?

Independence Day - at least they didn't try to intellectuallize it too much.

Contact - PC tripe.

I could go on.

beavis and butthead do america was good at first but got to played out.

I love B&B Do America since I am smart enough to understand the real humor of the movie, that is it pokes fun at immature perverted teenage boys. It is a statement on the increasing stupidity of our youth. Of course, some younger people are stupid enough to look up to B&B as role models.

South Park the movie was also a film that may look stupid on the surface, but underneath there is an anti-censorship message. I love how they poke fun at the MPAA.

The Planet of the Apes remake was aweful. The ending did not seem to fit. I'd take the classic version over the remake any day.

Hey, Out of Africa is one of my favorite movies of all time. And Sophie's Choice is a great movie too.

And about French movies and bad ending, who said that movies had to have a good ending? That's what I don't like about Hollywoodien movies, you know how it's going to end. BTW, did you know that the classical Hollywood movie is modeled after the fairy tale? (I'm not kidding, it's true. I could develop more on this if anyone's interested) Personnally, I grew out of my fairy tale phase.

As for the Disney cartoons. I find it horrible the way Disney takes a story and completely rewrites the story. The Hunchback and Esmeralda die in the end in the original story. And Phoebus is a bad guy not a hero.
I read that the real Pocahontas was a child, something like 12, I think.
Disney should write original stories and quit destroying the originals.

Anyway, that was off topic. Sorry.

You mean like "Little Shop of Horrors"?

The original is interesting, but the musical is more entertaining.

OK I saw daredevil... it sucks!

Not sure if any of you saw "BattleField Earth" but I've been told that it sucks...I liked it.

Another stupid movie is "The Stuff", which is about this liquid that when you drink it possesses people and makes them give it to other poeple. In the end this "stuff" becomes a hug blob and I didn't bother to finish watching it. My wife forces me to watch "Practical Magic" with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, which in my book is the worst movie I was forced to buy.

Naked Space with Leslie Neilsen is, without a doubt, the worst movie ever made in the history of making movies.

OMG!  I watched 10 minutes of that and had to turn it off!  That was one dumb movie.

I'm not sure what movie I would say is the worst.....but it is probably a Western since i hate westerns....

Maybe "Wild Wild West"...that was a horrendous experience

The sad thing is that I own the DVD One of those that I forgot to send back to Columbia House! DOH!!!

bkb also had mentally blocked out Wild Wild West. he now gives it its rightful place alongside gymkata, firewalker, ishtar, and howard the duck.

As for the Disney cartoons. I find it horrible the way Disney takes a story and completely rewrites the story.

paxx you've always spoken out against censorship. if disney wants to turn a good story into predictable, smarmy garbage it's their right. ( i admit that i do hate revisionist history with lots of little PC moralities weaseled in for the kiddies' brainwashing on the way to the happy ending).

I actually like gymkata.........well, the last part of the movie when they are in the race anyway. "Robin Hood Men in Tights" is a stupid flick too. To make it worse when I went to watch it in the theaters the place lost power.......people actually cheered

'Barb Wire' was the dumbest movie I was ever in.

Did you have a speaking role or just in the background? Naw, I know what you meant, that movie was pretty lame...unless your a 12 yr old who just hit puberty

*sigh* I was forced to watch it in the cinema with a crowd of friends. Gone for a smoke after 30 minutes and didn't return to the room.
