New "smarter" AI and ships icons bug

I am just playing 2.8 for first time and I'd like to share few things and bugs:

I noticed AI can go little crazy with colonization so I set up little trap for them. Just add privateer for full effect :D
It might be considered AI cruelty.

And I also received first trade offer, in what way this is "smart" ?

And little later some ships had icons or models switched, I had those set to default:
I don't know how many but these are just 2 examples.

Don't do that?

I mean seriously, are you suggesting that engineering time be put into protecting the AI from single player griefing?

That appears more like the colony rush instead of a bug. Blocking AI ships is a long time defense from the GCII days. Privateers always add some fun!

Well you have to admit that he put in an impressive amount of work to create his "colony ship trap"

I suspect he could have and should have been building other ships or doing something else with his time but it is impressive.

that said, isn't there already an anti crash code in place to have the AI send ships elsewhere if there is no path to a planet?  I remember early game the game would just crash if you blocked a planet from the AI.

Or better yet, teach the AI how to do it. Let's see if the meatbags like it.

Maybe add a "special event" if an uncolonised planet is surrounded. "Two of your fleets have accidentally collided in orbit of planet_name" >:)

Does AI target privateers at all? I have one hopping around destroying asteroids, shipyards and lone ships and the AI just seem to ignore it even though they have about 16 ships orbiting nearby planet.
