We have two main cut-scenes.

One for Star Control and one for the Origins story.  We have the story one in pretty good shape.  But I wanted to tap into our amazing Founders group, many of whom have probably thought of this stuff for a long time, what the perfect general intro for Star Control should be.

Remember, the Star Control intro isn't specific to a particular adventure any more than the Star Trek intro is.

One idea I've played around with is something a tongue in cheek:

But that could easily go very very wrong too.

So post below what your perfect Star Control intro would be.

Please, get somebody known for Star Control narration or even full motion picture if that's on the table. Tricia Helfer.

Ooooh.  Get Alex Bennett (Bennett Gordon Schwarzmann.  aka Commander Hayes) to do the voice!  He's in his late 70s, so...  Sooner rather than later?

Ooh Edi would be nice :D  -- Hunam, if they got Tricia Helfer they would absolutely have to get Seth Green as well.

I mean, Master of Orion got a whole slew of huge actor names including Mark "Skywalker by day/Joker by night" Hamill!!

The intro to Valerian instantly made me think of Star Control. Movie was ok, but that scene was fantastic

Some ideas/feedback after playing the game two days straight over a weekend.

- The exploration of the different systems depends on the availability of fuel  While the map shows you the starbases you've discovered, it does not show you the planets where you are able to either purchase fuel or get some for free which I think is a major flaw.   Show me a circle of a different color.   This way, I can more easily plan to visit a sector that is out of range of my home-world.   I could maintain a list in Excel but I'd rather the ship's log do it for me.

The Captain's Log:  A nice feature but it is incomplete, we need a log of planets with unknown structures anomalies we've discovered but were unable o to explore because of lander technology.  It would be nice to have a log of planets we need to revisit.   Otherwise such a log needs to be compiled by the player using Excel or something.  One example, I found a planet with a cave but it was defended by drones my lander couldn't last long enough to get to the feature.  There was no mention of it in my captain's log.

When selling ressource Units, there's a button that sells "Sell Conventionals"  or something like that.   There's no tooltip to explain what it does.   I though this button would sell ressources I don't need to complete quests and that is not the case.  It sold off some Francium that I had been accumulating for one quest and Lead I was saving for another.   It would be better that this button does not sell off ressources needed for a quest once the quest is active, leaving the player the choice to sell it manually.

This are ideas to avoid a situation where all of one type of ressource of the game gets converted to RU leaving a quest impossible to complete.

- Having the Starbases / Traders act like pawn shops.  When you sell a mineral ressource for RU, you can always purchase that ressource back for a higher price.   You cannot purchase more of a mineral than what you sold at that station.

- When an enemy ship is destroyed, make the ressources gathered a mix of minerals and RU.  This way players who prefer to farm instead of mining can also complete ressource quests.

- Geologically unstable worlds, with either volcanoes or earthquakes should renew their minerals over time so that a player can return and find new minerals to mine over a period of time.  It would make sense as volcanoes spew forth minerals from deep inside the crust and earthquakes expose new minerals to the surface.

I like that you've added a scavenge ability to the game so that a player can pilot ships from races that aren't part of his alliance.  It would be nice if Star Contol could find/deduce schematics from them over time so that I could build new ones if I lose the one I have in battle.  I might not reboot from saved games so much otherwise.

>it does not show you the planets where you are able to either purchase fuel or get some for free

By this, I meant , systems where I discovered it was the case, not tell me in advance.  When I wrote "show me a circle of a different color" I mean on the sector map, I'd like an icon similar to the starbase icon but of a different color around the planet which can supply me with fuel.
