WinOptimizer 15 key Activated "too many times"

I own Winoptimizer 15 and have (had) it installed on 4 machines. After upgrading my graphics card and uninstalling my Steam library on one machine I wanted to clear up the old game entries and shortcuts so decided to use winoptimizer (which was already installed).

It failed to start and instead posted a message stating that my key had been activated "too many times".

I tried to reactivate it manually by entering the key straight from my Stardock downloads page and again got the same response which also told me to purchase another key! I also tried uninstalling and re-installing the whole thing, but had the same problem.

To say I`m annoyed is an understatement. I have no intention of paying for this program twice, but would like what I have already paid for, to work and NOT disable itself every time I change anything on my PC`s.  I fail to see the value of limiting re-authorisation attempts especially when the program is prone to de-authorizing itself for whatever reason.

(I was rather uncertain about this program after downloading it when I saw it had the Ashampoo label attached to it, none of the other many Stardock programs seem to have had any activation issues & I`ve been happy using them, but I`ve heard many horror stories about Ashampoo).

Nope.

There is no option to do that, this is the winoptimizer 15 program by Ashampoo, and there is no option to "Manage" machines next to the serial number on the downloads page.

Hello,

Sorry for my previous reply. I just learned that for any technical issues, Stardock is only reselling Ashampoo software.

For any product support, please see: https://www.ashampoo.com/en/usd/sup

Kind Regards,

Already tried that, they are asking for a reference number from purchase, which I don`t have because I bought it from Stardock....

I can already see where this fiasco is heading. - No support from either company and no access to a program I`ve paid for.

For max activations, they are the only ones that can help you.

If you give them your information, your key for example, I am sure they will work with you.  We are not the only ones that resell their software, they have clients that are coming to them from other vendors and have dealt with this issue (no doubt) many times.

You can get your key from here:

Well, I`ve approached them again with this information, lets see what they say on my second attempt...

(Watch this space).

Forgive my cynicism (which is NOT directed at you) but I have had similar runarounds with other resold software, its not much fun being bounced backwards and forwards and having to send email after email to different supports who each tell you "not our problem".  Ideally support should be a single point process supplied by whoever you bought the item from.

If I sound exasperated, its because I am, and it`s because of this tiresome process.

Thank you for your replies.
