This Forum.

1. Can't judge how popular/thicc a thread is - plz show post/page count.

2. Clicking on a thread no longer sends you to the last page/post in a thread (it goes to the last post on the first page) - bug?

3. I want to see who the post was "created by" and "last reply by" - personal reasons.

4. Not sure if it's fixed, but I don't want to subscribe to any threads by default if I reply in it - can I have "subscribe to this" box unchecked?

^^^^ Agreed.

Also noticed that some threads appear to not show latest posts for me - stats show recently updated but upon entering the thread there are no new entries (no pages either).

Threads with new posts are not bold anymore, so you have to look at the times to see if there are any new posts.

You can look at the icon on the left now to tell if there are new posts.  If there aren't, there's no icon.

We're working on updating the design to provide better (but still cleaner) ways of getting the info you're asking.

Yes, I had just noticed that this time around.  I'm accustomed to old-style primitive forums, so none of the rest of the recent changes bother me.

That doesn't work consistently for me. The old way where the titles were in bold worked fine...

It's consistent as to new posts in an old thread, what there is currently no indication of are new threads.

And speaking of "primitive forums", wasn't USENET a lot better than what the internet evolved into?  Accessing USENET through a local BBS.  It sounds primitive, but there was a single topic for each subject that was used by everyone in the world.  Today, there are a million different places with the same forums.  Divided, segmented, and each with its own little dictator who decides who is and isn't allowed to speak.

This is progress?

Usenet was better than any of this.

I hadn't really thought about it, but you're absolutely right. I used to spent a LONG time going through my favourite usenet topics.

Alt.Ensign.Westley.Die.Die.Die was one of my favourites :-)

Hahaha...  In SFB we had a running joke for years about adding "The Wesley Torpedo" too the game.  You would fire him on too the bridge of the enemy ship, and he would annoy them into surrendering.  Haha!

I realized that my best memory of Usenet was hanging out with JMS in alt.rec.babylon5 while the show was airing new episodes.  That's one of the reasons I like B5 as much if not even more than Star Trek.  You couldn't hang out with Gene Roddenberry asking him questions about the show, but JMS was there (and very active) for anyone who cared to come see him.  Those were such great days!

Also still in somewhat of a state of shock over the death of my doppelganger, David Cassidy.  It REALLY makes you feel old when the person people used people used to always compare you too dies.
