Species/Empire Lore?

With my slow internet it would take a long time to download all of the founder's updates I missed. Was there one that gave a general overview of each of the species associated with the ships?

The one from August does, July has a timeline. I also recommend September because it contains concept art of all of them.

Also check out the wiki, it has a timeline and some info on the species.
