Ship Designer and Editing Animations

This seems obvious enough that I expect this is known already, but  I just haven't seen mention of it.  So I am asking if it is happening to anyone else.

I cannot edit the animation on ship parts.  When I select a ship design with animated parts, the editor shows me the ship but is not moving the animated parts.  Selecting a part and giving it an rotation speed or similar function and nothing shows in the editor.  The part stays in place.  If I quit the editor and re-enter, then it shows the added animation.

This happens with old designs that used to work just find and with newly created ships.  It cripples my individual ship design style since I animate ships a lot, but if it is widespread, it should be affecting others as well.  It has been true since the advent of Crusades.

And related to that: how the hell can you rotate your design? As far as I remember it was by pressing the right mouse button and moving the mouse around, but that doesn't work anymore and I found no other way yet ...

@lyssailcor: do you have a middle-mouse button?

Yes, I have. Did I remember incorrectly it was the right button? :omg:

For me, I hold down the middle mouse button and drag, it rotates the ship

That did the trick!  I feel a bit awkward at not knowing it.  But now I am a happy ship part twirler again.  Thanks!
