With writing on things....we used to write on everything. It wasn't abnormal to see "graffiti" all over the back of your jacket or to draw on a friends jacket.

I went through a lot of hairspray in the 80's!

Tight jeans that were folded and rolled at the ankles...

Shiny pink lipstick and nail polish...

Rock bands with "girl" hair and animal print spandex... (didn't they call that "glam" rock or something?)

Metallica when they had long hair

Colored contacts were invented (the ones that changed your eye color)

Did anyone mention MTV and VH1?

Yes, you are right. We wrote on EVERYTHING. Shoes, jackets,notebooks looked entirely 'graffitied', hell writing on your hands was a thing too. (Don't ask it was the eighties...I don't know. )

Hairspray...Oh yes. AQUA NET--RAVE, and then the invention of a hair spray we called liquid cement,it was called SPLASH by a company called Focus 21. You could go through a hurricane, but every spike was in place

That pink lipstick was hideous though... Oh lordy. *Shaking head*
What about the bangles...those skinny ones, that usually came in a 10 pack. Wearing like a 100 was really in. From wrist up to as far you can go.

Animal print pants... you name it, I had every animal. Zebra, Tiger, Lion, Cheetah prints pants. Then you wore them with leather black boots calf high, little dangley things hanging from the boots, jewles, studs.

Oh yeah..... THE BON JOVI JACKET!!!!!! I begged for one of those.
The long frindges/tassles hanging from the back, and arms??? (I called it the Bon Jovi Jacket) I still saved mine, it's in my closet, Keep hoping it comes back in style.

Metallica with long hair, wow I forgot about that. They were these skinny,extremely long haired 'heavy heavy metal' dudes back then.

And yes, the other 'metal' was definitely called "Glam Rock"
The poisons, Ratts,Warrant, Steel heart, I remember those...oh how sad?

Oh yeah...the black rubber bracelets??? Connecting two together and making that funny looking hook over look?

gulfwar I   uh...that was the early 90's   Talking about the 80's (and into the 90's) Remember MTV's Headbangers Ball?  They are bringing it back.  It airs tonight at 10pm EST and it's first episode is hosted by.....Metallica... (They have Ozzy's bass player now, though...)
