Tooltips for ship roles in the Designer

There still is confusion by some players on what role does what.  Including me.  Yeah there's a wiki, but would be helpful to have that info more handy by having tooltips for what the different ship roles do.

I second that demand!

Maybe tool tips over the Threat, Fortitude, and Value boxes, too, just to explain what they mean.

The wiki on this should be required reading too.

This is "Future ideas", so how about go a step further?

Be able to change the ship roles after the ship is built.    The Medium Capital ship is no longer a capital ship after I have researched Huge Hulls (or, more accurately, Epiphanied Huge Hulls--I have yet to research Massive Scale Construction straight up).

I also keep getting burned by the ship role defaulting to Support.   I will design & build some behemoth, 1400bc to build--and forget to change the ship role.   I wind up with a "support" capital ship that's useless in a fleet.  I have to redesign it, and pay a boatload to upgrade the ship I already built (and screwed up).

Yep, this would be really nice.

Along with the option to disable all colony improvement auto-upgrading.

Along with being able to use random races in a Multiplayer lobby.

Unfortunately they always seem to have their hands full as it is...

Totally agree.  To some extent the engine sets them on a per-battle basis so perhaps 'managed' roles is doable on a fleet basis, but there should be an option to change both the design default and the fleet-level role if desired.
