New WinCustomize Features

As you notice there are some new buttons available on the message boards.

Quote: This allows you to quote someones message for when you want to reply to them. Highlight the text you wish to quote and click on the "Q" image. This will copy the text and quote into the reply text area.

Watch List: Click this button to have an email sent to you when a thread has been updated since you last read it.

Edit: Only available to Apprentices and up and User Level 3 and up. You can only edit your post within 15 minutes of its creation time.

Search: Look at the top, there is a field for you to search the message boards. This only searchs the Title of the threads and the author name.

Show All My Posts Link: Lists all the posts you have made

Show My Watch Lists: Show the posts that you are currently watching

When listing the main thread lists it now displays 50 at a time and allows you to page through them instead of displaying message that are X days old.

Oh, one last thing. Sticky Threads. We can make certain threads stay at the top of the list for important information that we would like to stick around for awhile.

Hmmm... I have a blank space between "Delete reply" and "Quote"..... Is there an "E-mail an admin" icon there for you guys? I guess I wouldn't need that.

These features are not yet available in the WinCustomize Browser or Stardock Central yet. Next week I will begin the migration process to those as well as GalCiv.com.

BoXXi, the blank space is intentional to separte the admin functions from the general functions.

One thing though (and just a simple suggestion), how about when you quote someone the name of whom you quoted shows up? You can highlight their name when quoting but if you want to quote a sentence in a paragraph that doesn't work too well.

Just a thought.

If you hit 'watch thread', when ever somebody replies to that thread you will get an email telling you somebody replied.

Actually that is something that we wanted to do but it turned out to be more difficult that we thought. Maybe someday in the future.
