Production / reinforcement toggle for buildings?

I just had what I think might be an interesting thought.

What if there was a toggle for buildings, that moved between regular production and reinforcements.

So you could essentially switch a building between the two modes.

Would this be better or worse?

Just more to control?

Or would it make it easier if you could tell some bldgs to produce, while others strictly handle reinforcements?

(Thinking this would also lay groundwork for eventual reinforcement UI.... since reinforcement mode could be separate UI potentially...)

(In fact, maybe there could even be three modes: production, reinforcement, and the current "mixed" mode).

I would really love to see something like this.

Tasking out factories to a specific army would be amazing. When you have factories spread across the map, the auto-reinforce feature is unusable. Factories will build units with no bearing on where it will be sending them to.

I brought this up ages ago but didn't get any traction on the idea.

It would certainly be a significant improvement over the current implementation. Unusable at the moment.

Yes, it's currently really annoying that you have to cancel every reinforcement queued up in order to get a factory to produce a unit on its own.

It's on the list. But this list is very big. :P

So long as it's on there, I'm happy!

Ahem.. great.

Also, am happy it isn't the top of the list.

I would hope to see some other things fixed first, like...

... as I have mentioned in other posts...

That darn bug that deselects everything, and then stops you from boxing again until you click off, or double click a unit. This is just so darn glitchy. It drives me nuts.

Lots of other glitchies too... For instance, I sometimes have to click more than once when sending an army across the map.

When I play SCII, every click counts -- the game is 100% responsive to every single click.

Would love to see Ashes get to that level of quality.

TLDR: Fix the glitchiness first. :)

Hmm. I am not aware of these issues, can you provide a video of it?

How are you able to deselect reinforcements? From the army queue, I right click on a reinforcement ordered, but it doesn't cancel.

You have to do it from the factory itself. As you cancel each "build" that the army is requesting, it'll remove that individual reinforcement request from the queue and create a new one until you've canceled all the requested reinforcements. It takes forever (And requires more effort the more factories and armies you have) and it's an all or nothing affair.
