Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion isn't working after version 1.90

HELP PLEASE!

I've had Sins for some time and been able to fix any problems that have popped up but I've recently reinstalled the game unto my new system and the game crashes upon starting up leaving me on a black screen and creates a mini dump.

I've gone through and troubleshooted as well as gone through various Forum and steam posts in a hopes to fix it but no success.

My System:

- Windows 10 pro v1607

- AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1100T 3.30GHz processor

- 16Gb RAM

- EVGA GEFORCE GTX 960 4Gb SSC ACX 2.0+

Fixed it, had to goo through my Direct X files and removed the out dated components and reinstall it now runs perfectly fine like it used to

Had a similar issue with a top of the line (2021) gaming system. All drivers up to date etc. The game would hang and block the OS interface. Had to hard reboot until I figured I could use Windows-Key, launched the command prompt (CMD), type TaskList, then taskkill /F /PID #### (replacing #### with the current process ID for Sins).

I fixed this by manually updating the rebellion.user.setting and/or rebellion.user.dev.setting and set VideoIsWindowed TRUE.

In-game I can maximize the window and crank every possible video options to the max. The game looks gorgeous and so far works perfectly. Exit the game, come back, everything all good.

FYI I changed the mode to Full Screen in-game and it worked, but when I exited the game and launched, it again hang on a black screen

I found the setting fields here:

C:\Users\<my OS profile name>\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Setting\

Happy 4X to all!
