Game breaking bug in 2.0 patch

Go in negative balance just once and game is broken... end of story. Came out of debt about 20 turns ago and have over 2000 credits and all my factories and research centers are still shut down. Just managed to take over a planet and all of it's factories and research centers are shut down. Played this game for a total of 9 hours and 11 minutes and it's ruined. This needs fixing.

... (my tirade edited after this)

So I publicly disclosed my childishness. I offer an apology to Starock. This game breaking bug is due to user error, mine. Wow. To prove my sincere apology I will buy the Mercenaries DLC when I get paid next week. The replies below show how to fix this user error in case anyone else encounters it. I bought this game several months ago but haven't played it a whole lot until recently. So I've had ample time to lookup documentation.

When you go negative, the wheel is set to economy and is locked. All manufacturing is shut down.

Once you go positive, the wheel is unlocked, but you have to adjust it manually.

i.e. move it back to the centre.

To be fair  - I can certainly see why you are annoyed by this, but I don't think it s realistic to ask for a bug free version of GC3 vanilla *before* any more DLC etc is done.

Because that would require complete knowledge of all existing bugs to happen. But thing is that bugs are not all discovered instantly, some may still lurk around if they get triggered in certain situations only, and some may also be the result of patching.

So IMO the best we can do is to report bugs, and the best SD can do is to fix them on the way, but it should not stop them for working on further releases. Also, I don't think working on those further releases prevents them from fixing older bugs.

Sounds like you haven't readjusted the global production wheel after going broke. Go to govern tab and tweak the wheel from there. I'm happy to hear they're getting rid of the system in the upcoming expansion.

LOL you write a long post for a 'killer bug'  and don't even know how to play the game?

Let's be fair, some things are not explained all that well for new players.

Once you bring your economy back to zero or positive you will need to go into global settings and pull your 'wheel' pointer BACK to the Center. I know because I had the exact same thing happen to me and it was never reset to zero or 33.3 as it should have been.

The entire system you are playing on right now will be scrapped in favor of a new system that uses citizens to manage 'specialized planetary' production or research or economy.

This is of course if you go and get the expansion when it arrives.
