Diverse yet balanced planet mix per star system?

What constitutes a diverse yet balanced planet mix per star system?  On the one hand, a system map with over 100 colonizable gravity wells orbiting one star is unrealistic.  On the other hand, our solar system has only eight planets, yet has at least five dwarf planets.

My Map Designer setup is as follows, each planetary body being more distant from the star than the last:

A. 10 Stars (with the setup below per star)

01. Pirate Base

02. Volcanic Planet

03. Greenhouse Planet

04. Greenhouse Planet

05. Greenhouse Planet

06. Oceanic Planet (like GJ 1214 b, closer to its star than Earth to the sun)

07. Terran Planet

08. Desert Planet (like Mars, but could also be placed closer to the star, according to a 2011 study)

09. Ferrous Planet

10. Ice Planet

11. Ice Planet

12. Ice Planet (hopefully a future DLC will include colonizable ice giants, or "mini-Neptunes")

13. Barren Planet

14. Barren Planet

15. Dwarf Planet

(Plus the three starting planets for each player added to the map)

Admittedly, I didn't include gas giants, asteroid belts, or other uncolonizable gravity wells.
