HAPPY NEW YEAR JOE USER!!
I hope the new year fills you with hope.
Resolutions seem so out of date to me, so I pick a word and make it the flag plant for the upcoming year.
There were many words competing for 2017, but this year "faith" won.
Faith is defined as:
1. confidence or trust in a person or thing:faith in another's ability.
2. belief that is not based on proof: He had faith that the hypothesis....
3. belief in God or in the doctrines or teachings of religion:
the firm faith of the Pilgrims.
4. belief in anything, as a code of ethics, standards of merit, etc.:
to be of the same faith with someone concerning honesty.
Confidence and trust in my fellow humans is my very scary aim. Over the
last couple years, I've lost a lot of faith in people. Betrayal by friends,
unethical conduct in people I believed to be, well, ethical. The list is
endless. And after the bitter year of political fighting, I don't think I'm
the only one who may be wondering about the heart of humanity in
general.
So this year, I hope to have a little more faith where I can in people
by giving them the benefit of the doubt.
And of course I hope to grow my faith in God, which ties into
giving people grace.
I hope your year is full of growth, hard work and the satisfaction of it!
