January, and not everyone will get one immediately. (Unless the situation with Steam changes.) They only have 500 to give out initially, far fewer than the number of founders.

You won't be part of the multiplayer trial. If you post feedback, even if it is only one post a month, you will get a key. We don't have 500 people posting here.

I gotta say, that picture of a CD cut out into the shape of a key was brilliant much better than someone mansplaining that a CD-Key is perfectly legitimate wording for a game license key code.

I like that we still call them CD keys.  The last CD I got with a game on it, was probably Command and Conquer (something or other); And this will be a digital download, sans optical medium.

Hi everybody. New guy here, just found out by accident about the new Star Control, I couldn't beleive it.

I've played Star Control since the first one on my Amiga ages ago. SCII is my favorite game of all time.

I immediately preordered the game for $35. couldn't spare $100, I have budget restrains.

Can a $35 founder get this CD key or those are just for lifetime founders? I intend to be active and contribute here on the forum if that makes any difference.

I believe a $35 founder can get this key but ask yourself if it's worth the $99 to get everything now and not have to worry.  Plus side of the lifetime founder is if the game gets added to GOG connect (hint, hint, Stardock-they have a in-dev program there as well), there is a easy way to "transfer" DLC from one to the other that I will not comment on.  I do know that for gal civ III, the founder's edition paid for itself (not counting sales discounts) in 2016 when it hit $69 in DLC.  $99 founder here gets the OST (probably gonna be $9.99 DLC) and every future DLC for the title included in that cost.  You can upgrade for $65 later (price of a new game in the US) but I would not know for how long that will be open-probably not that much longer.
