Windows 10 Title bar and Window Backgrounds

Hi All,

Considering purchasing WindowBlinds in the Cyber Monday sale as it seems like a good deal, but before I spend money I'd like to know if it can actually do what I want.

I have Windows 10 on my laptop.  I don't mind the default window appearance or the start menu etc.  What I want to do is apply a decent dark theme to everything without changing the style or adding lots of new artwork or icons.

Primarily, I'd like to change the default window backgrounds from white to a dark grey with light text to reduce eye strain, and to change the active titlebar colour from white to something else.

Will WindowBlinds allow me to achieve this?

Thanks for your time

Sorry, no, you can't just make adjustments to the default Windows theme.  There are however many, many Windowblinds themes available, ranging from minimalist to elaborate. (Most of the "Windows7" themes work extremely well on Windows10.):

Thanks for the reply Dave.

When creating a new theme, I take it that you need an 'all or nothing' approach then?  I couldn't just create a theme with minimal changes and apply that?

You can but you'd need SkinStudio to do it. You can create your own WB theme based on any preferences you may have.

Thank you.

So just to be 100% clear:

If I buy WindowsBlinds (Including SkinStudio) I can create my own exceptionally minimal theme for Windows 10 that:

Maintains the default Win10 theme appearance

Changes the default window background colours

Changes the active titlebar colour

Yay/Nay?

Apologies for all the questions/clarification requests, but I want to be sure before I spend money on a product that doesn't allow me to do what I want.

Thank you :)

Yay, but please understand that you would need to learn SkinStudio, which takes time and patience.

Thanks all - that's good news.  I'm not worried about learning something new - I like having a little side project :)

 SkinStudio Tutorial

If you use this you'll be good to go skinning for All Os's however some parts in the tutorial are not for Win 8-10. and you'll probably have to ask about some "new" parts.

Hi SeraphTC,

Did you ever create the minimal theme you were talking about? That sounds exactly like what I have been looking for.

Thanks,

Paul
