Founder Starbase Forum changes:October 2016

Just a head's up that we are going to be choosing some topics that we consider vital  to be stickied.  So if you are suddenly having a hard time finding a post you were participating in, check the stickied posts.

What sucks about pinned posts is that their title is ALWAYS in bold font. It's not possible to see at a glance if there are new posts in the threads.

Can they be de-bolded and act like regular posts?

I often check the forum from work, so clicking every pinned post to see if there's new stuff in it is very inconvenient.

^ This. For the love of God.

Also, I guess it would be a big hint if my local multiplayer information request topic isn't stickied. No sticky = confirmation that the feature was cut.

I'm really excited for tomorrow!  :w00t:

That's not the way it works. :)

Ok, ok...

Topics SD considers to be vital are being stickied.

Local multiplayer is a topic. If it is not stickied, it is considered not to be vital by SD.

Non-vital topics/features are on the chopping block.

And here I am, waiting to hear the fate of my beloved feature.

(But seriously, ID, please put pressure on them to schedule some dev time fix the "always bolded"sticky message problem. I don't want to spend another year and a half with a broken message system.)

I'll ask them to modify the font system.

We did it! Horay! Thank you, Brad.

Omg, you can't be serious! Wasn't the whole font-thing a joke this whole time?!?!?!? No one in their right mind would ask Brad to change the setup of the forum. Add it to your subscriptions, so you're notified when there's a new post, you peasants!!! hahahahah

^ And who's gonna sift through all those emails?...  <_<

Please tell me how to subscribe to all new posts automatically.

(And I know of the "View all recent posts" option, but that shows me posts from non-Founder zones. I don't want to risk accidentally replying there and violating NDA.)

And now you see the flaws of the system you were praising. The forum view is the one true view.
