Taskbar Image

I currently use a skin in WindowBlinds that has a taskbar I particularly like. How can that image be copied and used in another skin?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

The easiest thing to do is this:

Open WBConfig (what you open to change a skin)

Click on "Settings" on the left side

In the window that appears, about a third of the way down, you will see "Use the taskbar and startmenu from this style:"

Underneath that in a dropdown box is "Use the taskbar and startmenu from the current style" with a dropdown arrow to the right - click on that arrow and select the skin with the taskbar you're wanting.

Click on either "Apply settings now" in the upper right, or click on Style in the upper left to go back and pick the skin (window frames, menues, etc) that you're wanting to use.

That'll use the skin's taskbar, taskbar buttons, systray, startmenu, etc. - "everything down there".  See if that works for you.

Appreciate the quick response.

I open 'SkinStudio' 8.0 to edit the skin and I don't see 'Settings' on the left to select the 'Use the taskbar and startmenu from current style'.

Is SkinStudio the same thing as what you referenced, i.e., 'WBConfig'?

No, WB Config is what you open when you want to apply a different skin. "WindowBlinds 10" in the start menu, or double-clicking on the WindowBlinds systray icon, however you normally start WindowBlinds to choose a skin.  (I see I used the phrase "change a skin" above, probably a poor choice of words.)

The process I described above doesn't edit a skin, it just tells Windowblinds to use the taskbar "group" from a specific skin.

I open 'SkinStudio' 8.0

(I don't know which version of WindowBlinds you're using, but if you're using WindowBlinds 10 you should also be using version 10 of SkinStudio.)

I'm using WindowBlinds V8.09, 64 bit Windows 7.

I don't see the menu selection you reference on the left side.

I've attached a screen shot of the window that is displayed when double clicking the WindowBlinds icon in system tray.

Ah, "version issues"  ;)

I only had that version for a few months, but I'm fairly certain the option was there as well.  Click on the round "cluster" icon in the upper left, I think a menu will drop down and "Settings" will be an option, click that, then look for the "Use taskbar...." option I talked about above.

The round menu 'cluster' as you called it, is where the SkinStudio is invoked.

I've poked around quite a bit in this version and don't really recall seeing the 'Settings' menu you refer to.

And, I'm not even sure I can upgrade to WindowBlinds 10 using Windows 7 Pro. :-(

"Settings" is in there somewhere.  Maybe clicking specifically on the down arrow next to the round icon, or maybe it's included in the menu that drops down when you click on the "gear" icon in the upper right (between the search icon and the help icon).  Someone familiar with that version can tell you exactly where it is if you can't find it, but there have always been settings.

Found an old thread... Looks like you click on the "gear" icon in the upper right and a new window with some tabs pops up.  Look there.  ;)
