This mod is my second complete modification for the Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion game and I have choosen the Wing Commander universe because never a mod from this universe was finished before. It is not a proyect from few days ago, I have been thinking about it more of one year. It is not a proyect started without any chance, I have the skills, the time and the stuff for to complete it at a small amount of time.

 
About the mod. Mainly it will be a three races mod. Humans, Kilrathi and Nephilim. Clearly there will three factions with them but.......the Rebel factions will add things as the Union of Border Worlds. There will be units from Black Lance and Pirates.
 
Stuff? mostly from the original games, Wing Commander IV, Wing Commander: Prophecy, Wing Commander: Secret Ops, Privateer 2: The Darkening and from mods as FOC Wing Commander Invasion from MayorApayne and Wing Commander Armada mods from miklosgo. A complete credits list will be published when I publish some more than text and images.
 
Space structures? probably the biggest challenge. At a first place, I set the mod for to use the original from SOASE but now......thanks to the stuff shared, probably I can replace many of the space structures and I can make some new, it should not be too difficult if I use the same style from the other models.
 
Poor and old models? I have tested the old models from the original games at SOASE and they look good. The type of shaders with lights and normal maps from this game can help a lot. I have added some cosmetic details to the models as turrets, engines, reflections and lights. Perhaps you think how there are better models around the world, perhaps yes but I have not access to them and in the amount needed for this mod, probably no. However, if you know about some models, please tell me.
 
New models? probably yes, not only structures. Lately I have searching the models for the Kilrathi and I am sure how I will make some variants from other models. I will show them when I complete them.
 
Wing Commander I and II designs? I am not sure if I will use them because they are models from other style. I will add a big ? to this.
 
Amount of units? mostly the same amount from the original SOASE but with more fighters and bombers.
 
Heroes? probably yes. But it will be the last addition.
 
Good motivation? when I started the mod, I did not want show nothing about it because perhaps my motivation could replaced by other things. Now I believe how I will be finished. It is a good refresh for my mind.

If you liked the Worm, perhaps you will like the Shark. The new design and model from today. Similar a size to the Tallahassee Cruiser. I have made this unit thinking a one ship mainly with anti-fighter weapons but without lose the anti-ship capabilities. It would be some as a support cruiser for heavier ships. By the moment I have not worked too much in the weapons and I use the stuff from the original SOASE. But it looks fun.

About the name, if anybody have some better. I have not problems at change it. Easily I could name it Tiny Orca.

Well, I have started the second group of frigates. This is the Nephilim light carrier. I given to it the name of Whale. A mix between the Leviathan, the Orca and the previous Shark. Similar at size to the Shark but without too offensive weapons. Have fun.

Today I have two new more units added. One is the Barracuda y the other is the Angler. The Angler is a ugly modification from the Barracuda. I have named it Angler because the Angler is a fish very ugly. This is a angler fish.

More additions and changes. At first place, I have made a small edit in the Angler. Now it is more different from other units. 

 
 
 
The Angler is the anti-module ship. A ship with poweful anti-structure weapons. A support  ship at few words.
 
This is the Nephilim module constructor. I found it in the Star Trek Armada mod from miklosgo.
 
And this is the Lamprey. Perhaps I have made it bigger than it should be. But it is better with this scale. It is a utility ship with some shield abilities.
 
Well, I believe how before end the week, I will be making the capital ships from this race, they will be easier because I do not need anything new.

These are the news from today. Perhaps I need some new names for these ships, I have a lot of imagination but I can not make miracles.

 
At first place the Lamprey. A utility ship. I did not show it in the previus answer from me.
 
This is the Heavy Frigate from Nephilim. I have named it as the Monster. It is the biggest frigate Nephilim.
 
This is the Envoy frigate. 
 
The last is the Triton. Clearly the freighter. I have made three versions. One of them deploy the starbase.
 
Well. Later or tomorrow, I will continue the mod adding the capital ships. I believe how I will make at least one new. The Tiamat will be the Titan.

More news. I have added the first capital ship, the Orca and the frigate shipyard. Other addition are the icons, it took me a lot of time today but I made the icons for all the last units added in the mod.

After a small weekend delay. I have continued with the mod. Today I have a new unit for the Nephilim. This time the Hydra, a capital ship. It will be as a heavy cruiser, very powerful. Crealy this week will finish the capital ships and Titan from this race and I will continue replacing space structures. It will be fast with most of them but I will continue with my plan from one or two models per day.

Today I have added two new capital ships, the Leviathan and the Kraken. The first is a heavy carrier without any anti-ship weapon and only anti-fighter weapons. The second is a big ship with a very powerful plasma gun which it can destroy any ship with one shot. Clearly the moment that you see one of these, you should destroy it with all your forces or only a group of bombers and trying put your capital ships far from this monster.

The Nephilim space units, without count the fighters are finished. Lately I added the 5º capital ship and the Titan. The 5º capital ship is named Quimera and it is a less powerful version from the Tiamat. Both of 3200 meters of lenght.

In the video, you can watch most of the units from the Nephilim. Now I will continue adding the fighters and structures from all factions.

After resolve some strange problems thanks to Blair Fraser from IronClad who he checks some minidumps (game errors which only him can read), I will continue the work with this mod. Mostly adding the fighters from the Nephilim and the structures from all factions. Probably the next week because I must finish other things from other mods.

This help from Blair Fraser is one of the good things because I like edit this game. The modding support is very good and they have not forgotten the game, the players and the modders after release it.

Here you can see one good feature from this game, you can set a friendly faction controlled by the AI and you can improve your relations with these factions with the diplomacy.

I will add more the next days, probably this week the Nephilim structures will be finished and with them all the race. The Nephilim and Confederation are easy thanks to the Star Trek Armada Wing Commander mod from Miklosgo because there are a lot of stations but there are not anything from Kilrathi and I will need to create new models. However, it will not be too difficult. I made similar things with other models before.

I have made some additional new structures from the Nephilim. By the moment, I go to show you two more. The Hangar bay and the Hangar Bay upgrade. The upgrade version adds weapons.

Really I made four new structures today, one of them is the space cannon, I have made it as if it was a damaged Tiamat rebuilded as a orbital cannon. It is the super orbital weapon from the Nephilim.

The other is the Antimatter-recharger, the name says clearly what it makes.;)

I will add the starbase one day of these, this is another special structure builded into the game, and very probably I will finish all the structures from the Nephilim this week, starting the Confederation structures the next week.

I had considered making a Wing Commander mod a while back (but settled on Freelancer) but it's good to see someone doing one!

I actually ported a Vesuvius carrier model for the TCA to use as a super carrier in the 7DS mod several years back, was also pushing for Makon to use a few Wing Commander fighter models like the Thunderbolt and the Arrow, but that didn't stick =P
Then we also used a few Nephilim models for the TOC.

Will give this mod a try later on when I have the time, keep up the good work man! "

More news. These are the last two structures, the Jump Blocker and the Starbase. The Starbase can be upgrade with additional weapon modules and it adds some changes in the design. Just look the Starbase from the EAW mod from MayorAPayne and you will understand how it can be.;)

I have uploaded the first part video where you can see all the structures from the Nephilim. The most new, the Starbase, it was the last from this race. Now I will continue adding structures from the Confederation. Other thing which you can notice, it is how I have replace all the music.

More new additions and some changes. I made a mistake before with the shipyards from the Confederation. They were others. But I could replace them easily and I will use the previous models with the Union of Border Worlds.
