Hi Friends!

I have not been here so long that even forgot how to put a screenshot on this page: https://forums.wincustomize.com/477844/page/1/#3638185. As a result I've created new post... Excuse me... :(

I'm glad to see that all of you are Ok. Just wanted to show you the next level of skinning and programming - Chronos Desktop is not a gadget. This is an interactive animated wallpaper that "sit" on the native Windows Desktop like Stardock's DeskScapes but has active buttons and controls which changes Display Modes, opens Dialogs and Menus, etc...

I'm happy because all of this was created with VB.NET (including Audio Spectrum Analizer, 10-bands Equalizer and many other things). In fact many Pogramming Gurus told me every day that it's impossible...

Especially for RedneckDude (Hi, Jim!) and any other people who still using DesktoX. Look at the links below which help you to "reanimate" weather gadgets:

1. Searching for Zip Codes:

"http://wxdata.weather.com/wxdata/search/search?where=" & "your search string"

2. Downloading Weather Forecast:

"http://wxdata.weather.com/wxdata/weather/local/" & zipcode & "?cc=*&dayf=10&unit=S"  '<-- 10 days/nights

"http://wxdata.weather.com/wxdata/weather/local/" & zipcode & "?hbhf=48&unit=S"            '<-- 48 hours

Have a Nice Day!

Hey Vad...it's ok. You're updating the app...

You use the same method to put the screeny on your OP as in the screeny thread... :)

The Chronos Desktop is gorgeous, Vad. How is it with system resources?

Is this a new customization app? Out yet? :-D

Will like to see what customization possibilities it brings :-D And thanks for the weather web service links. :-)

To DrJBHL: "Vad. How is it with system resources?"

1. Up to 16 MB RAM in E-Mail Checking mode because of Earth animation.
2. Up to 25 MB RAM and 2% CPU usage in Player mode when playing video and ~ 20 MB RAM and 1.5% when playing music.

In the other cases CPU: 0%, RAM: 4,5 - 7,5 MB. I've added RAM Clean UP function which cleans memory when it's necessary.

To Skarny:  This is not a new customization app. This is the main part of my Chronos Desktop theme.

I will gladly pay for this.  How can I get this?  Thanks again.

Hi GregII,

I made it not for sale. Besides it have been tested only on Windows 7 x86. Unfortunately, a lot of bad things happened to my country so I even can't by new PC with Windows 10...  :(

But, if you want, e-mail me here: *** edited *** and I'll send you a copy (if you have some PC with Windows 7 x86 of course).

Thanks a lot but that email address is bouncing back on me.  Please emil me at [email protected].

Hi Vad_M!

Yes, I do have Windows 7 x86 and would love to have a copy of this. Don't worry about not having Windows 10. I tried it and immediately went back to Windows 7.

Again, thank you very much.

Greg

Beautiful!

So nice to see you again old friend!

Vad, it works just fine on Windows 10 as far as I can see.

Here are the answers to your questions:

1. Is WindowBilnds is installed on your PC? If YES, what theme is used (name, author)?

   Yes. Chronos by Vad_M

2. If NOT, what is your settings in "Personalization": "Aero", "Basic", "High Contrast", "Classic" or "My Theme"?

3. Is DWM Transparency and desktop Composition are enabled or not.

Yes, DWM transparency is enabled. For example, vStyler's Naked/Noir are transparent. The DWM and Desktop Composition aren't listed under  "Services" anymore, so I can't provide that info. I'm not sure what Windows Desktop Composition is.

Why can't I get this to work on Windows 7?  Thanks.

Hi Zu,

I'm happy to see you too! Unfortunately the gadget development is irreversibly died... So I have no reasons to be here every day. But sometimes I have something that should be published only on this web site.

Greg, I've sent you instructions.

I'm still totally befuddled by how to get weatherlab 7 to work.  I see the suggestions above for website but don't know which files to edit, assuming I can, to get that to happen.  Mostly, the program starts, appears but the region is never set so there's no weather.  All it says are "Please wait..."  You can't select the region as all the options appear but are greyed out and you can't click on them.  Also, editing favorites and setting the "home" does nothing.

There is the chance the service that desktop theme implemented had ceased to work or in hiatus. Things happened all the times. The only option is switch to another channel/service.
