Stupid Question regarding certain bonuses

I understand what the impact is when I see something like 15% increase in food, or 25% increase in influence, but I often see bonuses such as +1 military or +2 food, or +1 increase in wealth. What exactly do those +1 and +2 bonuses translate into?

I assume there is some base number and those bonuses add to the base, but what exactly does having, say a +5 total bonus to food or wealth (for example) actually mean in game terms?

well pretty much it's the base number which is what all those percentages get added to

most of the base numbers should be visible by hovering over the squares at the bottom ( production wealth research) or the lines for influence or food.

For food specifically I believe 1 food =1 pop ( I play synthetic races so I'm not 100% on that

Correct  and more food=more pop=more raw production=more mfg/re/$  so build those farms :D

If you are refering to the Tile bonuses that say for example, +2 Military and +1 research, then +1 equates to 5% extra to an adjacent building that is research and the +2 is 10% extra on that tile to military. Most tile bonuses equate to 5% increments, unless its food/moral these are +0.5/+1.
