Another V1.7 Starbase bug?

I thought to review all my star bases in my current game...115 of them.  Just to make sure there were no upgrades that needed to be applied due some of the current bugginess in utilizing stationed points.

As I was doing this, I started noticing that ALL the default constructors selected for the bases had changed back to the Basic Constructor M1 model.  Crap!  So what could have caused this?  There is regrettably no feature to update all existing star bases to a new default model that I know of.  You can only update the default for all newly created star bases by selecting that option.

So I did some testing.  One thing I had done was create a constructor specially designed to be used in the auto upgrades called Construct Auto.  The thought being that since you cannot upgrade all existing star bases to a new design when you improve constructor designs, I would just keep upgrading the same design, overwriting the design as I made improvements to speed or whatever.  In this manner I had hoped to avoid manually upgrading my default constructor on all my existing bases when I designed a new one.

But no .... if you use an existing design that is in use as a star base default constructor, modify that design and save it under the original name, all the star bases go back to calling out the original Basic Constructor.  I get it.  Even though it has the same name it is internally a new unique design. Sigh ...I just tried to use it because we have no way to upgrade all existing star bases to a new design.  Unless I am missing something here?

It was a great vision and laudable effort to bring in a feature that would mitigate the micro management of star bases.  I have really been trying hard to work with it.  But that said, and as evidenced by a number of problem posts on this subject here, it is basically an un-useable feature at this point.

Our next release has a button that will allow you to apply a single constructor design to all starbases

Sweet!  That is what is needed.

There have been other issues raised in other posts and it would be great if after evaluating what your intentions are are with some of the concerns it would be great if you guys could post those intentions in a 'Here is what we are doing with star bases in the next patch'

To summarize some of the other requests ....

- The system currently does not use stationed points as new upgrades become available, nor does the base order a constructor, apparently because points are stationed.

- Provide a starbase option to auto eject idle constructor ships at star base.  This would cause them to come back up in the idle ship logic.  Assuming the use of stationed points is resolved, people could still elect to keep these ships at the station for the next upgrade as it becomes available.

- Provide an option at the ship yard to not include this ship yard in the star bases shipyard selection logic

- provide option to specify which starbase modules are included in the auto upgrade program.  This option can be set after the first module in the chain is ordered or installed

Thanks again for the response!

Add a cancel button to currently building modules.

You don't know how often I've clicked on build sensors when I did not want to

add an option to destroy modules that are no longer wanted
