King of the Hill

I'm looking for strategy on getting above 305 on Ascendancy Wars - King of the Hill.  I just watched a YouTube where the guy get crushed in the same time frame I do, although he spread off the hill which I hadn't attempted.  His score was even lower despite similar 10 minute death.

Thanks! Brian

P.S. I've owned the game all of two hours, but have played many similar.

Build a couple scouts to take all the resource nodes, build up your metal fast, and don't build up your production.  Stick with just the one factory, at most two armories.  Most of your resources need to be going into static defenses.  Even at the very beginning.

From what I've seen, and I've gotten to where there's half a dozen dreads hitting me at the same time, the only way to survive long term is to get a Sentinel up fast on the east side of the southern entry.  You can finish it in time for the first few cruisers, and it will kill them all and hold up long enough for you to get a few more defenses up.  Once you've got repair backed Sentinels across the hill, you're solid till they start sending Cronus.  At which point things get sticky again.

The last time I played I got my first Prometheus out just in time to get my ass kicked when multiple Cronus took out two thirds of my defenses.  If I'd sent it the other direction, instead of engaging the enemy Prometheus that came from the east, it would have been able to kill them and I'd have survived till the next wave at least.  Sentinels will kill the other dreadnoughts just fine from on high.  It's a bad idea to try and get dreadnoughts too early, might be a bad idea to go for them at all.  A large group of Artemis might have taken out the Cronus's vision before it killed the Sentinels, which would have made them come in range and die, and I severely stunted my output when I started building the Prometheus so I was low on cruisers.

I'm lasting way longer, killing one dreadnought, then crushed with the wave of multiple dreadnoughts.  My score was still under 300, yet when I first tried and died quickly I got over 300.  It would be nice to get a timer vs a score.  I tried Easier, and Way Easier, but lost in the same time or less.  That was irritating.  I did my best at Normal, with a mix of units and static defenses, the units are needed for the sheer quantity of enemy that come.  I haven't decided if trying to expand very far on the map is useful, other than I need the metal so desperately.  I need to give up King of Hill if I'm going to enjoy the game.

I've realized the score doesn't matter so much, have to check the microscopic timer in the upper right.  I made it to the 5 dreadnought assault at 27+ minutes, normal setting.  Hope that is decent?

24-27 should be the time when you die to cronus so it's ok. Try to skip producing units, you need dreads to hold of cronus attack. Hyperion, Prometheus and all Cronus after that point. quanta matters for upgrading your units.

there is another thread about it, you need three point defense, two top, one bottom but there are ppl that are defending on high ground.

I finaly did it :)

Scouts are the keys to get access to more metal mines.

And the waves from east don't have Cronus. You can destroy them with Artemis and Nemenis without taking a shot. But you will have to defend at the south narrow pass.

And build dread as fast as possible and protect your base from planes.

Took me 3 hours to finish it because it's constantly respawning. Progession was slow :D Score was 637.
