Pin more files to Word ICON on Task Bar

I have looked all over the internet for an answer and a lot of people get this confused. Can you tell me if the setting I am looking for is in Start10, Windows 10 or Word?  I drag files onto the Word Icon on the task bar to pin it to word so when you hover over word in the task bar a list of pinned and recent files appears. It seems I can only pin 9 files onto word.  I don't care about the recent files but would like to pin more files to Word.  Does anyone know where there is a setting to control this?

I think Windows 10 limits the number of pinned items on a pinned icon.

Yes, as far as I know the 12-item limit is hard-coded in Win10, and none of the known Win7/8 registry hacks will work. Dumb.

If you are comfortable editing the Windows Registry then navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

in the right pane, click an empty spot and go to New/DWORD (32-bit) Value and click on it to create a new DWORD,

name it JumpListItems_Maximum, press Enter twice, enter a Value data of 100 and press OK, close the Registry and restart Explorer.
