Unable to minimise a fence

I've just downloaded Fences and am surprised to discover that I can't minimise a fence. I thought the idea was to declutter my desktop. Yes the fences make it more ordered, but I was hoping to be able to minimise a particular fence that had a lot of shortcuts or folders that I don't use often - similar to a phone desktop where apps are grouped into a folder that pops open when I click it. Is this something you are thinking about? It makes total sense. ie. If a fence was minimised, then just the title bar would remain visible and all the icons are not visible until I click on the title. It's for fences that are not used often.

I'm away of the double-click feature that makes everything disappear. This is not what I'm referring to.

A Fence doesn't minimize. You can set the opacity to only show the fence when it's hovered over.

You're missing a big opportunity. Microsoft tried with their tiles to create the mobile phone experience on computers and failed. The desktop is the place to do it. If you could get Fences to do what phone interfaces do you would be on a winner. ie:

- make fences collapsable down to one icon and then expandble on a click

- create an option to hide the text from an icon

Just my thoughts

Cheers,

David

You can already hide the text from a Fenced icon:  Right-click the desktop and chose Customize Fences.  Then choose Adjust Color and Apperance.  You have 3 options for showing labels:  always, never or on mouseover.

I can only get it to hide the title of the fence itself. I was wanting to hide the titles of all the shortcut desktop icons. Can it do that?

My mistake.  The option you want is in WindowsFX, not Fences.

Double-click on teh desktop to hide all fences.  Fences can be excluded if you want some to not hide.

What I would like is to reduce each fence to just the title ... the smallest you can get is the title and one icon.  And I would like a container with a "shelf" to hold each of the titles, so I could drag out the fence I want, and then pack it away when I'm done.  Yes, it sounds a lot like a menu, but it's what I'd like.
